Display Market in the Face of Change – Mini Interview for “Elektronik” Magazine

The report in the November issue of Elektronik magazine is dedicated to the display market – which is why Unisystem and our expert perspective could not be missing. Integration of components, customization of solutions, and comprehensive engineering support are becoming increasingly important today, allowing for the creation of complete and reliable data visualization systems.

In a short interview, Kamil Kozłowski, COO and Vice President of Unisystem, discusses the key factors shaping the display market, the role of comprehensive technical support, and the directions of development of touch technologies in modern applications.

Kamil Kozłowski, COO, VP, Unisystem: In recent years, we’ve been witnessing dynamic changes – the global economy has clearly accelerated, and market conditions remain volatile. From our European perspective, we can say that the economic situation is still satisfactory. New projects continue to emerge, with displays playing a key role in many of them. At the same time, we observe increasing activity from Chinese suppliers, who are more often trying to enter the European market directly, bypassing local partners. This phenomenon is not limited to the optoelectronics industry but applies more broadly to the entire electronics sector.

However, we know that we have an advantage here, as our clients still value our partnership approach, flexibility, and genuine engineering support – things that cannot easily be replaced by price. We have the experience and solutions that allow us to maintain both our competence and quality advantage.

What is the role of technical support and complementary components in display projects?

Today, most of the projects we deliver go far beyond the display itself. Clients expect complete solutions – including integrating the display with electronic and mechanical components, conducting various tests (including durability tests), and providing software optimization support.

The screen becomes the center of interaction between the user and the device – it not only displays information but also enables operation. That’s why our specialists from the Solution Department, who develop solutions tailored to individual needs, focus on providing ready-to-use, refined modules that can be directly implemented in end devices. This is a real value – especially in projects where readability, durability, and reliability under demanding conditions are key.

And what about touch technologies – have they really become a standard?

Definitely yes. Nowadays, the displays we deliver are increasingly integrated with touch panels. Moreover, at Unisystem, we are developing proprietary solutions in this field. An example is our capacitive touch button, designed to operate in demanding environments – it works reliably in the presence of liquids, can be used while wearing gloves, and its surface is protected by cover glass. Additionally, it provides both light and sound feedback, giving users intuitive confirmation of their actions – in line with the principles of modern UX. This is a solution ready to be implemented both in new projects and as a replacement for traditional mechanical buttons.
