OLED Displays Tailored to Your Project – Overview of Unisystem’s Offer

Unisystem’s portfolio includes an impressive range of OLED displays — hundreds of models available in various formats, shapes, and communication interfaces. These modern solutions combine compact design, high image quality, and low power consumption. Thanks to these properties, they can be precisely matched to the needs of even the most demanding applications.

OLED displays are made of multiple thin layers of organic electroluminescent compounds positioned between an anode and a cathode. When voltage is applied to the electrodes, the current flow causes recombination of charge carriers in the emissive layer, resulting in photon emission – in other words, light. Each pixel of an OLED matrix is a miniature organic diode (Organic Light-Emitting Diode) that emits light independently. As a result, unlike LCD technology, there is no need for separate backlighting.

Advantages and disadvantages of OLED displays

OLED displays offer excellent optical characteristics – high contrast, superb color reproduction, deep blacks, and wide viewing angles – all achieved with low power consumption. Thanks to their construction, OLED modules are also resistant to shock and vibration, allowing for very thin and lightweight designs. Notably, they can operate in a wide temperature range – from -40 to +80 °C.

The main drawback of OLED displays is the natural degradation of the organic light-emitting layers, which limits their lifetime. However, ongoing technological advancements are gradually extending this lifespan, enabling reliable operation of OLED-equipped devices for many years – even in demanding applications.

OLED displays on Unisystem’s offer

Unisystem offers a wide range of OLED displays for various applications – from consumer, to commercial, to industrial use. This article focuses on graphic OLED solutions provided by Winstar. All listed models are based on COG (Chip-on-Glass) technology, where the display controller is directly integrated onto the glass substrate.

Winstar’s OLED displays come in several color variants – with white, yellow, or blue content on a black background. This color contrast ensures excellent readability of the displayed information – especially for simple messages such as device status, operating parameters, or measurement values.

Key specifications of selected models are presented in the table below.

One noteworthy model is the WEA012864MX, a 0.96″ dual-color OLED display with a 128 x 64 px resolution. Content is displayed in yellow and blue on a black background, allowing for more creative content layouts on the screen, highlighting key information.

Some of Winstar’s OLED models also come with integrated touch panels. One example is the 2.23″ WEP012832N with 128 x 32 px resolution. This display enables the design of interactive user interfaces where the display not only shows information but also performs as an input interface, eliminating the need for mechanical buttons.

Applications with OLED displays

OLED displays are used in various stationary and portable applications, from industrial environments and medical devices to IoT solutions, automotive, aviation, and defense.

In retail, for example, compact OLED displays are an excellent fit not only for POS terminals and payment devices but also for vending machines, such as food and beverage dispensers, ticketing machines, or parking meters.

Unisystem’s extensive customization options

Unisystem also offers customized solutions tailored to individual customer needs, including those based on OLED displays.

That’s why every collaboration starts with a detailed analysis of customer requirements – both technical and functional. Based on this, a dedicated solution is developed, with full technical documentation, testing, and a working prototype. During the implementation phase, Unisystem supports the customer in integrating the display module with the final product, both mechanically and electronically.

Importantly, the majority of this work is carried out locally, ensuring flexibility and the ability to respond quickly to project needs or changes. Customers receive not just a component but a fully optimized solution along with comprehensive technical support throughout the project.
